Instructions
Slice the Watermelon
Cut the watermelon into half inch thick slabs. Use a butterfly shaped cookie cutter to press through each slab and create the butterfly shapes. Collect all cut shapes on a clean tray.
Thread onto Skewers
Carefully push a wooden skewer through the center of each butterfly shaped watermelon piece from the bottom upward, leaving enough skewer at the bottom to hold comfortably.
Add Fruit Decorations
Press blueberries and strawberry halves onto the watermelon butterfly wings to create colorful patterns resembling butterfly wing designs. This step is a great activity for kids to help with.
Drizzle and Display
Arrange the finished butterfly skewers standing upright in a block of styrofoam or laying flat on a large platter. Drizzle lightly with honey and garnish with fresh mint leaves before serving.
