Instructions
Press and slice the tofu
Press the tofu for at least 10 minutes to remove excess moisture. Slice into thin strips approximately 4 inches long and a quarter inch thick.
Make the marinade
Whisk together soy sauce, maple syrup, smoked paprika, liquid smoke, olive oil, and garlic powder in a shallow dish until fully combined.
Marinate the strips
Add the tofu strips to the marinade and let them soak for at least 5 minutes, flipping once halfway through to ensure even coating.
Bake or pan fry
For baking spread on a parchment-lined sheet and bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes flipping halfway. For pan frying cook in a hot skillet for 3 to 4 minutes per side.
