Combine and Season
Add drained black beans, chicken broth, cumin, garlic powder, and smoked paprika to a large microwave-safe bowl and stir to combine.
Microwave on High
Cover the bowl loosely and microwave on high for 5 minutes, stirring once at the halfway mark until everything is hot and steaming.
Partially Blend
Use a fork or potato masher to mash about one-third of the beans directly in the bowl to thicken the soup naturally.
Finish and Serve
