Instructions
Blanch the Green Beans
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook for 5 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Drain and immediately transfer to an ice bath to stop cooking. Drain again thoroughly.
Make the Sauce
Preheat oven to 190 degrees C. In a large bowl whisk together cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, black pepper, and garlic powder until smooth and well combined.
Combine and Layer
Add the blanched green beans to the sauce mixture and stir to coat evenly. Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 baking dish and spread into an even layer.
Add Topping and Bake
Sprinkle half the crispy fried onions over the green bean mixture. Bake uncovered for 25 minutes until the sauce is bubbling around the edges.
Finish and Serve
Remove from oven and top with the remaining crispy fried onions. Return to oven for 5 more minutes until onions are golden. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
