Instructions

1

Prepare the Filling

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a bowl combine the softened cream cheese, minced jalapeños, shredded Monterey Jack, and crumbled bacon. Mix vigorously until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

2

Fill the Wontons

Lay wonton wrappers flat on a clean surface. Place about one teaspoon of filling in the center of each wrapper. Lightly dampen the edges with water using your fingertip, then fold the wrapper diagonally into a triangle pressing firmly to seal and eliminate any air pockets.

3

Brush and Bake

Arrange the filled wontons in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet without overlapping. Brush the tops lightly with olive oil which will help them turn golden and crispy. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until they are deeply golden brown and crisp all over.

4

Cool Slightly and Serve

Let the wontons cool on the baking sheet for 3 to 4 minutes before serving as the filling will be extremely hot directly out of the oven. Arrange on a platter and serve with ranch dressing or sweet chili sauce for dipping.

Substitutions

baconfinely diced smoked sausage for a different smoky flavor
Monterey Jack cheesesharp cheddar for a more pronounced cheesy flavor

Common mistakes

Overfilling the wontons which causes them to burst open during baking and lose all the filling
Not sealing the edges tightly enough leaving gaps that allow the creamy filling to leak out
