Instructions
Make Raspberry Syrup
Add raspberries sugar and half cup water to a small saucepan over medium heat. Mash the berries with a spoon as they heat and simmer for 6 minutes until the syrup turns deep red. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve pressing the solids to extract maximum flavor.
Brew the Tea
Steep 4 black tea bags in 2 cups of boiling water for 5 minutes. Remove bags without squeezing to prevent bitterness. Let the tea rest for a few minutes before combining.
Mix and Chill
Combine the strained raspberry syrup with the warm brewed tea and stir well. Add 4 cups of cold water stir again then refrigerate for at least 1 hour until thoroughly chilled.
Serve
Pour the chilled raspberry iced tea over glasses packed with ice. Garnish with fresh raspberries and a lemon wedge for a beautiful presentation.
