Place the fresh raspberries in the bottom of a large pitcher and gently muddle them just enough to break the skin and release their bright red juice and flavor into the water.

Slice the lemon into thin rounds removing any visible seeds to prevent bitterness. Add the lemon slices and optional fresh mint leaves to the pitcher with the muddled raspberries.
